During my second year on FCP, we had a identity module where we had to develop our own subculture and design a zine and photoshoot for it. My team’s subculture was called the ‘No Tribe’ tribe so ‘Ebirton’ backwards. It was for all those people who feel like they don’t really fit into one specific box, they are culturally quite vocal and experimental with their looks but they don’t do it to follow trends or to fit into one particular crowd. I really enjoyed this identity project, exploring tribe sets and this whole idea of ‘face’ and self-expression was interesting to look into and my team & I were very pleased with our outcomes.
